Desirees Candle

Lord, another candle has gone out.

You had Your reasons, I've no doubt.

But, still without that candles light

I see myself not shining bright.

In time, I know this wound will heal

But, here and now, such pain I feel

This numbness that now grips me so

Will also, someday have to go.

Please fill this void within my heart

And give to me a fresh new start

To help a new candle, its light to gain

And turn that flicker into a flame.
